I just turned 45 have two small boys and I’m terrified. I want to see my children grow up. Does the lesion being present at the inked margin mean there is still cancer left in my neck? Is this straight papillary or is this a follicular variant as they mentioned a follicular lesion (is this a cancer or not?) and extensive follicular thyroiditis.
Is a circumscribed hyalinised lesion a well defined cancer or is this a 'bad' form of the cancer? What are 'islands' of papillary carcinoma within the lesion – are these normal or is this a different sub type? Is focal cystic change normal? Is a tan coloured thryoid normal or are they saying that my entire thyroid gland is cancerous? What does it mean? I am due to have the RAI at the end of January, not sure how much I will have or how many times. Can anyone please interpret these results for me? There is no one else I can ask and my family think that now I have had surgery I should just get over it as everyone keeps telling them this is a good cancer to have. I don’t feel this is a good cancer – it has turned my world upside down. Thank you all so much for reading this.
