thanks for your informative reply. I have been on my thyroid med for less then a week. I started feeling better from the start! My energy level has gone up! Which is great! I am less cold, too. I see my endo (who was refered to me by my MD) at the end of the month.
Hi. Don't panic, on top of every thing else! Most of the people who respond here have no actual medical training, but have learned a great deal about thyroid and adrenal (and sometimes pituitary) because these conditions are so misunderstood by the insurance companies, hence the doctors. Insurance companies have set themselves up as medical gods; you do as they say or they won't pay. The doctors have so-called normal figures and abnormal figures. In most of the cases of people who ask questions here, they're borderline, or not even close enough to be borderline, but we, the patients, know from researching, that we have symptoms of SOMETHING, and we narrow it down as best we can and ask others with personal knowledge of the disease, does this sound like you, what did you do, where do you go, what do you take? Your condition could be pituitary related, or adrenal or thyroid, or combination, or something else. It would be helpful to find why you miscarried. Multiple miscarriages are common with thyroid problems. Many with malfunctioning thyroids can't conceive. I wouldn't think of trying to conceive until these issues are resolved. The risk of another miscarriage is great. The risk of a malformed child is great. Be sure you don't yellow page your endo selection. Get some idea of this dr's experience with pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid, as they're interrelated. Google Women to Women, a holistic clinic in Maine. I've heard very good things about their problem-solving in difficult cases. Google your symptoms. Google the three glands. There are many sites that have helpful info. I was unaware of my thyroid condition at the time of my miscarriages. I think a naturopath or holistic dr is more likely to try to determine the reason for the miscarriages; not all thyroid conditions result in them---why did yours? Research, research, and your anxiety level should go down a little. Even though some of what you may learn is sort of scary, you can deal with what you know about. As you said, it's the unknown that drives us nuts. Best wishes. Let us know what happens.
