Good News but Now What?

Arrrgghhhh......My bloodwork is wonderful.  I have a fully functional Thyroid.  My nodules are benign and the largest is 1.2cm.  I should be happy!!!

Problem is....what is causing tenderness and pain right over my nodule.  Sensation of nerve impingement in area that moves up throat and down chest, constant throat clearing, hoarseness and extreme shortness of breath.  It feels like I have a rock in my throat that is irritating muscles and tissue on the left side.

Doctors say that it can't be my nodule but there is NOTHING else in my throat, chest or brain.  I've had all the imaging.  Sorry about venting but I feel like I'm back to ground zero, and today is probably the year anniversary of this thing that just popped up one happy day.

I have similar symptoms (blood work is not normal yet, graves patient), asked my doc about symptoms and she said my goiter is not big enough to cause them.

4.6 x 4.5 x 1.4 (left side) right is fair normal. that is where i feel the jaw pain, i am hoarse a good deal of the month, an occasion nonhoarse day. hoarseness my doc said is not a symptom of thyroid, hello, i was getting the bum rush that day so perhaps she was not listening, she is usually pretty attentive, but 1 hour behind in patients, she saw me my 15 minutes and booted me out (only drove 2 hours to see her). i can see the writing on the wall, she is getting frazzled which means she will need time off, and will  have to find  new doc. and start all over again, why do they schedule so many. anyways off topic. i can sympathize, no advice for as you can see in the same boat, noone listens.

i am going to request another ultrasound next visit. to make sure nothing has changed.

good luck

...I understand how u feel....I have nodules as well...I consider myself symptomatic, but the endo doesn't...what is this pain, thickness, need to clear throat??I get facial pain and along my jaw.....I am not on meds, but was told I had Hashimotos.....when I talk normally I do get hoarse also.....just had my second US and have to wait another 6 months.....one nodule was slightly larger......so my symptoms get ignored??
it also feels like I have a slight sore throat....it never goes away.......oh yeah...my labs appear fine as well????SO I am 6 months behind u....and just as confused.

Good luck
