Good thyroid doctor in New Orleans?

Hi, I am just recently diagnosed with mild hypothyroidism. Tried synthroid.....had a horrible time and could not tolerate it. I am now on a very low dose of Armour and doing pretty well. I would like to get established with a good doctor who will treat me (with Armour or something desiccated) in the New Orleans area. Does anyone know of a good thyroid doc in this area who listens, and will treat symptoms, not just numbers? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have heard of this doctor before, and would love to see him. However, do you know if he accepts insurance? If not, what kind of investment am I looking at? Hundreds or thousands of dollars? Just trying to figure all of this out.

Hello, the only doctor I was able to find in New Orleans is a Dr. Chuck Mary. Not sure if he is accepting new patients or not- search the Mary Medical Clinic and don't be thrown off by the other treatments they do there. He basically saved me a few years back when my then doctor had me lowering my dose of Armour based on my TSH, when in fact I was very hypo and needed a huge increase. It's worth checking into!
