COLD and surgery tomorrow

I have a 2.5 CM Nodule and a 1cm nodule one on each side of thyroid. The bigger one I had it FNAd it was negative for cancer only 2 slides done the nodules are part solid and part cystic. The bigger one has hyprefoic foci as well as calcifications. My thyroglobulin is 41.6 the otehr thyroid hormoes are "NORMAL" Do you think my desion for the surgery is a good one? I can feel the bigger nodule it is near my throat. Also I have a freakin cold. No temp just a head cold is that bad? Do you think they will postpone my surgery? AND will my TG go down after the surgery? Will I need synthroid for the rest of my life haivng the right lobectomy done? I think that sums it up.. THANKS Dr.

This is what I was told.. A cold if fine.. its a fever that might postpone or at leat take extra precaution for surgery. They give antibiotics through your surgery and after as well for infection reasons.

I woud put a call in to the RN or Dr and tell them what is going on, but if you just have a cold, I bet you are good to go. Remember, its a fever they might want to know about.

I feel allot better thena i Did yesterday. Cross your fingers we are good to go!! I am ready to get this over with!!! I will hopfully be posting good news. If not I will be posting any news!!!! HERE we go!!!

Hi Rodeo Queen,

Not too familiar about the surgery, but wanted to let you know that we have you in our prayers.   Sometimes, if you have a cold or not feeling well, the doctor will postpone your surgery.  I do know this much, since it happen to me once.

When you are feeling better, please post a let us know how you are doing.  Know that we are here for you and with you.
