HELP? TSH IS CRAZY

OK, I HAD MY TSH AND T4 DRAWN 2 WEEKS AGO. MY TSH WAS 12.7, AND MY T4 WAS 0.78. I HAVE BEEN TAKING 200 MCG OF SYNTROID FOR THE PAST YEAR AND MY LEVELS HAVE BEEN FINE UNTIL NOW. WELL  MY MD INCREASED MY SYNTHROID TO 250 MCG AND THEY DID MY LEVELS TODAY, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ONLY BEEN 2 WEEKS ON NEW DOSE, MY TSH WAS 23.8. I COULD UNDERSTAND IT NOT GOING DOWN WITH ONLY TWO WEEKS OF MEDS BUT WHY WOULD IT BE GOING UP???

It looks like to me , that your body isnt absorbing the T4 med .
Are you taking it and not having anything to eat for at least an hour in the mornings?
You must take it on an empty stomach and have NOTHING to eat until at least an hour later.
You say you have had your T4 done.
What about the FREE T3 and FREE T4?
They are the most accurate tests, as the T4 is outdated.
You are on a lot of Synthroid and I would be asking for further tests if you are taking your Synthroid as you should.

What did you MD say about the labs? It could be he does not want to increase the meds at this time, they usually test every six weeks, it takes that long for the body to react to the medication, I can only guess he is just trying to monitor your labs a little sooner. By me responding to your post, it will move it up a notch and maybe another member can help a little more, I am kind of a new to my condition (Hashimoto's)
