I had low calcium and low iron before my TT. The calcium got worse, the anemia is stable with ferrous sulfate daily. I have low Vit D too!
All I know is that many of us who have the auto-immune thryoid disease, be it Graves or Hashimoto's seem to have these issues. For some reason the body decides to shut down the excretion of stores of iron or calcium and we get more ill!
Been nearly 2 years since my TT and I am still on 5 x 600mgs calcium daily. (3000mgs total) Plus 25mgs of Ferrous Sulfate. 1,000 iu Vit D daily. was 2,000 iu but we dropped it down as my levels were very good, but they are slowly sinking down again over time!
If I were to drop any of the above after probably a few months I would end up either in a coma or worse!
No one can tell me why either. I guess as a Hashimoto sufferer it is something we have to bear!

Tell them to figure out why you are anemic.....There has to be a reason unless you don't consume anything with iron. Vit D deficiency is very common and nothing to worry about as long as you supplement it with D3 and continue.
It seems like us thyroid patients sometimes end up with a domino effect of problems!!! Hang in there!  :)
