Hi Selma! Usually it does slow down once your body adjusts to the medicine, AND you reach optimum levels. It can take some time though.
Other than hair loss, how are you feeling?
HI Laura...how ru doing since ur surgery???
Actually I have noticed an increase of hair loss since taking the synthroid is that normal...my skin is dry...and I never had dry skin.
I am tired...run down...but I have several other issues going on.....so I never know which is causing which.I have buzzing and rining in my ears all the time, but not sure if it is related.
I had labs done this AM to see how the dosage is working.
Thanks

Hi Selma- I am starting to feel better. It has been kind of a slow healing process. I think I will start a post here about post surgical healing for thyroid patients. Thank God it is over. I am now 2 weeks post op. My thyroid levels plummeted from surgery so now working on that. You know how aweful low levels can be. lol
Glad to hear you had labs done...post them here to me when you get results....I would like to take a look. Yes dry skin and hair loss should get better with time. My endo once told me that the longer you have been sick, it will take twice as long to heal from the time you reach optimum level. It is a very long process for some.
The buzzing and ringing can be form thyroid.....hmmm wonder where your levels are at.
It will take some time for hair loss to let up. Try to be patient.
Most importantly is to make sure you take your B complex twice a day. This will help with adrenals which can cause the hair loss with the thyroid issue. They coincide with each other.
Let me know when you get labs! :)
Thanks Laura...
I am glad u r doing well....I am interested in what you meant by posting info on recovering from surgery with a thyroid problem.....what issues will we have?
I was recently dx with EDS...Ehlers Danlos Syndrome...it causes slow healing and easy bruising...what will the thyrois issues add?
