Having TSH checked on 6/18- LID?

I am having my tsh checked on 5/18 to see if my levels are high enough to start RAI.  Should I start the low iodine diet now?  MY endo wasn't so clear-- he said don't eat table salt and that was it. He kind of blew that off. I know it isn't that easy. Did anyone experience having to wait long for TSH to be at 30 or higher? OR should I expect it to be there after 3 weeks post op after tt?  I kind of want to make arrangements for my daughter and don't have a date yet.   Where can I find a food list for LID- no recipes, just acceptable foods.  Thanks.

Mine was at 45 after 2 weeks so i had RAI then.My Dr said just stay away from seaweed and kale but i stuck to the low iodine diet anyway. It seems like most Drs are not that concerned about the LID but just you TSH level being over 30 or 35.

Thanks Roman.  I have my bloodwork done in two weeks and if I am at 30 or higher, I will then schedule RAI for the following week or so.  I should probably sart next week sometime.  I guess it would be a shorter list to ask what I can eat.  I was checking out the website for thyca and it's low iodine cookbook.  My doctor was real sarcastic when I asked him about LID.  I just want to do it the right way so I do't have to do it again.

I pretty much stuck to fruit, veggies and pasta.I had no dairy or seafood.I also ate low sodium turkey breast sandwiches(you can ask for low sodium turkey at deli)no more than 3 to 6 ounces per day.I also ate alot of eggwhites and potatoes with no salt catsup. It was hard at first because you have to think everytime you open the fridge but its not so bad.I lost about 10lbs in 2 weeks.
Good luck you will do great!!

Sounds yummy (LOL)!  Thanks for the tips- I was thinking the same thing- weight loss, not that I  really need it.  I just hope to maintain my current weight.  I also downloaded the LID cookbook from the Thyca website.  Thanks.
