While looking for a doctor to help, you can avoid a lot of wasted time and money by calling the prospective doctor's office and relating that you have a high ratio of Free T3 to Reverse T3, with resultant hypo symptoms, indicating the need for treatment with T3 medication. Then ask if the doctor is familiar with Reverse T3 dominance and how best to treat it. That should sort out the doctors that are prospects from those that are suspects. LOL
the unit shown for the RT3 is ng/dL.
It seems that I have a lot of the symptoms of hypothyroidism, and if it can help me, I will try and find a doctor that can help me!
Would you please check and tell me the measurement units shown for the Reverse T3 result?
If it is what I expect, then your Free T3 to Reverse T3 ratio would be about .55, which is significantly lower than the recommended range of 1 - 2, with higher being better. Reverse T3 is the mirror image of T3, but has no biological effect. So when you have excessive levels of RT3, the receptor sites are blocked from receiving FT3. The result is similar to having insufficient FT3, namely hypothyroidism.

Based on the doctor's reaction so far, I would start looking for a good thyroid doctor.
