am i hypo or something else?

I am on 137mcg for hypothyroidism. TT 2006. For about a couple months now these symptoms have been hitting me hard. Terrible pain in lower extermities with pitted edema. Comes and goes. Horrible flushing feeling, i dont actually pour sweat but so bad I feel like someone turned on a heater inside for several minutes. Then , outta nowwhere I can be so cold to the bone I feel like my blood isnt circulating. I know that I have had hormonal profile last nov and am in menopause. Is it that or my thyroid? It is driving me crazy. I have to lay sometimes at bedtime with a cold wash towel over my face until the flushing passes. I called my Gp and he said well we just checked your thyroid January and it was "Fine". Why or what would it hurt to check it again with my symptoms. gimel, if you read this I am going to try desperately to see the doc you reccommended in cumming ga. I have to get this gastro issue resolved with hernia first.
Thanks for any imput....i am going crazy with this hot and cold feeling.... I suppose when you are hypothyroid and menopausal you dont know which to blame. I guess its both.

Thanks Sassy for responding. I also left a note back to you on my journal i posted on my page. I went in length yestersday with the Endo of all my symptoms and how sick I have been this last year and she was just so unsympathetic. I told her all about my severe leg pain , ringing in my ears , flushing and she just blew it all off to menopause. She said thyroid problems do not cause leg pain. I was so sick when trying to sit and talk to her I thought I was gonna pass out. I really am beyond frustrated. At least she finally ordered some blood test and especially my vit D and adrenal test. So we will see if she follows up and helps me out. My last resort is the old Endo I saw back when I was 21 when all this start with a thyroid storm that just about killed me after having my son. He moved and i lost contact with him but I have found him again in Atlanta Ga and he only is doing cash only. I dont know why he is not taking insurance. All I know is he was a genius and he saved my life and i did well for many years until i had to have the thyroid removed due to it developing into a large goiter and i couldnt breathe and I let this group i am seeing now with a surgeon remove it. After i had it out the surgeon left and moved to colorodo. Sorry for the long history. Just venting again. Thank you and Bless you.

I too have a sweating issue.  I also have  some  leg problems going on.  Walking at anything but a perfectly flat surface is painful and can only walk for a short short frame of time.  My MD thinks it is a spine thing and not PAD.  Well I thought okay good, until I found out that thyroid problems can cause all this pain too, and she never mentioned it!
I am sorry nobody addressed your thread. And yes these doctors are so busy or ???? I just don't know.  sometimes I wonder if they have earbuds in listening to some good tunes and are nodding their heads to the music instead of understanding..    -sass-

I am sorry I posted this because I woke up in horrible pain and feel that I sometimes post and answer my own questions. I suppose I am just frustrated at the treatment I am or am not recieving from this long list of doctors I see. Today I went to my pain managment and threw out there my symptoms with my legs swelling and joints and so on and although he didnt want to really address it since pain meds is all he cares about he did finally say I do believe you may need to see an endocronologist and possibly see about you parathyroids.
I just asked my GP the other day doesnt he think i may need my levels rechecked due to increase symptoms and he said I did them Jan. and they were fine. So, I am gonna go ahead and see if I can get in to see this Endo in Cumming Ga. I will add him to my long list of doctors.
