When you dig out your labs, you might also dig out the ones from prior to starting meds so we can take a look at exactly what's happened on the 50 mcg.
Thanks for your reply.
They didn't tell me what kind of thyroiditis it was.
Now Free T3 and T4 are low normal. I don't have the labs with me now.
I used to have high Free T3 with borderline low Free T4 feeling extremely hyperthyroid symptoms.
I don't want to mislead you. Most people on a full replacement dose are on a higher dose than I am. I have a tendency to not tolerate customary adult doses of anything.
Have you had follow-up blood work to your 50 mcg dose? If so, please post it with reference ranges.
Which kind of thyroiditis do you have?
Wow then I must have serious trouble absorbing it despite always taking it first thing in the morning and waiting 1 hour before breakfast.
I'm on 50 mcg for thyroiditis and my Free T3 and T4 are low normal and I feel like those levels are still too low for me.
A full replacement dose, except for a very large person, is far less than 300 mcg per day. There is so much variation in how we absorb, etc. that it's impossible to know what 50 mcg will do. I'm on a full replacement dose of 88 mcg (I'm not a small person, nor am I obese), and I know people smaller than me who are on larger full replacement doses. All you can do is re-evaluate after 4-6 weeks and see where you've gotten.
