Hi, I have several goiters and Hot nodules. Very tired, getting severly depressed, losing hair, (I know this is weird, but I have gained weight) and very dry skin. I have low TSH and slightly above normal T3 total. My T4 Free and T3 Free are normal. I seem to get worse as times goes. I have been fighting with this for nearly 4 years now. My goiters/nodules are also benign, however, I am just ready for them to get my thyroid out. I don't sleep at night. My heart races all the time. I have palpitations and I am so exhausted. This is really beginning to take a toll on me not just physically, but mentally. Now the back of my heels hurt when I lay down at night and my feet hurt when I walk. I only have to walk a few feet and they start hurting. I had to quit my job because I could not deal with the stress! I would break down and cry at my desk. How do you convice the doctor to take it out?!
You really need to be on a beta blocker for your high heart rate, and with your recent T3 being high I don't know why they haven't started you on an ATD. You actually look like a prime candidate for ''add back therapy''. This is where they treat you for hypo and hyper at the same time. Many ppl with graves or ppl who have graves antibodies and hashi antibodies are treated this way. In laymens terms, you would take synthyroid for your T4, and an ATD for your T3.
These are the antibody tests to ask for
TSI-Graves marker, you should have ZERO antibodies. Even if your numbers pop up under the ref range, you have graves
TPO-INFLAMMATION MARKER
ATG-ANTITHYROGLUBIN (usually found in ppl with hashi)
