Facial Ticks, hard rapid blinking/breathing

For the past month I have been blinking really hard where I scrunch up my whole face and I blink really fast, I also do this weird breathing thing with my nose where I inhale and exhale really fast. It happens more when I am stressed or anxious but I just want it to stop. I have Hashi's and Hypothyroid. Anyone else have symptoms like this?  It started happening while i was still taking levothyroxine but I have been off that for 5 weeks now due to the uptake scan I did last week.  The ticks are driving me crazy.  My stupid dr doesnt care about me (only spent 5 min with me yesterday to tell me I have 2 nodules and I need an U/S) I hope once I start on medication again that it stops.

let me know if you have advice for me.

Thanks

Can you tell me which supplements your chiropractor told you to take? I have the same symptoms... excessive blinking and eyelid heaviness.  All doctors tell me they don't know what is causing it.  Do you think your is due to hypothyroidism? Since the synthroid is not working, could it be that you need T3 instead? I have been searching and searching for an answer for many years!

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I have had excessive eye blinking ever since I was on levothyroxine for my hypothyroidism.  I have been off the medication for a couple of weeks cause I was having terrible side effects when they increased my dose, and I also had terrible side effects on synthroid, so I am not gonna take either of them.  My eye blinking got a little better, but it has come back the last few days with eye heaviness.  Hoping it will get better.  I can tell you, a doctor is not gonna help. Even with labwork being normal, you can still not feel right due to many other things affecting your thyroid, like diet, adrenal glands, pituitary glands.  I saw a chiropractor who does applied kinesiology, and he had given me some supplements.  That is the only time this past year that I have felt normal.  Also, there are functional medicine doctors who can get to the root of the problem.

It sounds like that issue is related to more the anxiety than anything else but if your thyroid hormone is medically off - the anxiety can be associated with this disease.

If your doctor is not addressing your concerns - make a new appointment or seek another opinion with someone with better bedside manner to help you correctly.
