Greetings and thanks for this forum. I am 64 and in good health, but I have been dealing with a toxic nodule and borderline hyperthyroidism for about 10 years. I have not treated it until last year, when I began a series of alternative remedies while I decide what else I might do--hemithyroidectomy or the iodine radiation. My question: since late November, I have felt a great deal better, with fewer symptoms and the nodule has reduced to about 1/3 of its original size. However, recently I had a flare-up of the old symptoms, which happened to be the time when I had a blood test. The results showed FRee T3 5.2, TSH less than.005 and thyroxine 2.00. So those were the worst levels I've ever had. I'm wondering: if the nodule is going through changes, would this cause fluctuations in my reading?
I am not thin and have minimal tremors. My main issue before November was loose bowels, but that is 95% resolved (except for the day I had my blood test).
Since I'm basically feeling so much better, I'm wondering if I should get another test on a day when I'm at my best? But then what?
I've avoided the mainstream solution for now because I am a writer on a tough deadline and I can't have major disruptions until I finish my project.
