TSH is a pituitary hormone. It can be influenced by many factors other than thyroid hormone levels. Therefore, it is often not a reliable indicator of thyroid status. Many of our member find that TSH has to be almost zero before their hypO symptoms are even relieved. Since that was a TSH with reflex and your TSH was out of range, they should have run FT4 as well. Do you have that result?
I would suggest to you that if you do not feel hyper, then you are probably not. Does your doctor test FT3 and FT4 as well as TSH? These are much better indicators of your thyroid status than TSH.
One of the factors that seems to contribute to the unreliability of TSH is duration of time on meds...the longer people are on them, the less reliable TSH often gets.
Do you have hyper symptoms or feel different than when your TSH was in range?
reference range = 0.27-4.20
TSH with reflex T4 was 0.17
Why do you think you're hyper (overmedicated)? Are you having hyper symptoms? Do you have lab work that indicates hyper? If so, please post FT3, FT4 and TSH along with reference ranges, which are lab specific and have to come from your own lab report.
