Hi, when my TSH was exactly the same as yours last month, I felt like ****. I also have a lump in my thyroid too. But like you, I had a doc who kept saying it was still in the normal range. I have also had infertility problems, miscarriage, premature menopause. They all seem to fit together. But with the thyroid, I've had to keep fighting to be heard. And I nearly gave up last wk. It was only due to the support of everyone here that I made one last stand and I am finally being heard with the docs. I don't care what your doctor says. My TSH has swung all over the place lately, but I felt absolutely terrible when it was 4.6, so I don't care what they say. And my new doc classes that as borderline high! But I still can't be treated yet, because it's swinging high and low. But being heard has helped me cope until then. So keep on fighting please don't give up. I know it's so hard and some days you could just cry, but keep going. You are not going crazy. I used to think that, until people here helped me to make docs see it is my thyroid that's responsible. Good luck.
Hopefull your GP will be using the new refererence range of .3-3.0 and will classify you as subclinical hypothyroid at least- to complete hypo.
No you are not crazy and enlargement of the thyroid when hypo is common. It is called thyroidtitis.
Your hormones could be a bit out of whack due to the hypo - but I would think a good blood work up would be best on the whole hormone system. You are young yet - so that may not be done. Perimenopause is common when the thyroid is hypo for a long period. Only way to really tell is blood work or a saliva test for cortisol.
Google hypothyroid check list and read the symptoms on the list to see if you are a match on any of the symptoms. I think that will help you with your appt.
