2/ How long to wait before getting pregnant again? Obviously until it's safe and my levels are normal but does it usually take weeks, months or years? My endo sounds very optimistic about a new pegnancy in just a couple of months...
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 15 years ago and I have had no problems getting pregnant (I am currently pregnant with my second child). As far as I know as long as your levels are normal and you are having a period, you should be able to conceive. I don't see why you can't start trying to get pregnant now or in the near future. My sister also has hypothyroidism and has 4 children ranging in age from 4yrs to a newborn. My only concern for you is that your antibodies are postive. I have heard that this may cause a miscarrige well into the second trimester. You need to talk to your endo about that. Once you become pregnant, your endo will keep a close eye on your levels and adjust you synthroid as needed. I hope this helps:)
thanks so much for your feedback. yes, i will discuss the "antibodies positive" issue with my endo.. last time i saw him, he made it sound like i should be able to get pregnant soon... like in a couple of months. but he's a young endo so maybe has less experience than an older one... and might not be aware of the possible problems down the line with a pregnancy...
that's why I really could use feedbacks from others who have been (or are) in the same situation..
