Hello, I notice that you seem to know a lot about the thyroid and medication. Well I would be most grateful if you please tell me if it's okay if I stopped Levothyroxine 50 after taking it for 3 months? And replacing it with something natural? My Nurse Practitioner is not all that good, she has prescribed me wrong medicine before, and I'm experiencing some scary side effects. Please reply to me as soon as possible. Thank you so much. Thank you for contacting me. I have already stopped it 3 days ago and I feel so much better.  I have been taking sea-iodine. I was having terrible tightness of chest. I know my body very well, I realized that the levothryroxin was hurting me. I have decided to go the natural way, instead of chemicals.

Levothyroxine is thyroid replacement medication.  What did you want to replace it with?

The only real side effects from levo are symptoms of being hyper, though some people can react to fillers/binders in the medication.  

Please post your current thyroid blood tests, along with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.  Also, please list your symptoms.  This will help members better assess your situation and comment  more fully.

It's never advisable to self medicate.
