You should make sure that every time you go in for testing that they test for Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4). FT3 and FT4 are the biologically active thyroid hormones. If the doctor resists and makes excuses as to why it is not needed, just insist on those tests and don't take no for an answer.
FT3 is the most important thyroid test because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Scientific studies have shown that Free T3 correlated best with hypo symptoms, while Free T4 and TSH did not correlate. Many of our members, myself included, report that relief from hypo symptoms required that FT3 was in the upper third of its range and FT4 at least around the middle of its range.
Adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 levels by changing the dosage of an anti-thyroid med like Tapazole is not easy, but that is what is necessary to relieve your hypo symptoms caused by too much Tapazole.
Sorry to say, but it's very possible. You should call your dr.he should be able to adjust your meds it's like a balancing act. I've been diagnosed for over 12 & every once in awhile I need adjusting.
