200 mcg of synthroid & still exhausted

I had a tt 10/14/09 with 100mci radioactive iodine 12/3/10 for papillary thyroid cancer.  I started 200 mcg of synthroid 12/10 but I'm still totally exhausted & feel hypo.  I see my endo in a few days & have already had all my thyroid labs drawn for that visit so there may be some answers there, but I'm wondering if any of you have had similar experiences & what helped.  Should I ask him to add a t3 med?

I was on 175 Synthroid and still had symtpoms. I had to ask the endo to test my Free T3 and sure enough I was low. Suggest it and see what they say!!! Good Luck.

You should usually only add a T3 med, if you aren't converting the T4 to T3.

Is your doctor testing your Free T3 and Free T4 levels?  If so, it would be good if you could post the results, along with the lab's reference ranges, so members can comment more fully.

It does take several weeks to get the full effect of the med, but you should have been on it long enough by now to do that.  You also have to remember that even when your levels get right, your body needs time to heal and become well again.  Dealing with thyroid issues require a lot of time and patience.

Wow, I am on .1875 and I thought that was high.  If I take any more than that, I get headaches.  I hope you figure this out.
