Lab results

Hello,

I was wondering if these lab results are indicative of hypo/hyper, or have anything to do with the 3 thyroid nodules present on my thyroid.

Any help is appreciated,

TSH: 1.862(reference range 0.300-4.500)
FT3: 4.0(reference range 2.4-5.3)
FT4: 1.6(reference range 0.7-1.8)

Thanks for your time

Fasting glucose under 100 is fine, but it's consistently hovering at that 99 point, you might want to keep a close watch as it could start going over.

what age are you and have you recently went through menopause? hence sometimes a drop or inbalance in other hormones can cause a series of problems as well which can start  in the 30s40s and a lot at menopause...and have you had your d3 vitamin/hormone tested...

My fasting glucose has been 90-99 over the last two years.  With a reference range of 70-110.  So not sure if that is considered high?

There should be fasting glucose level on your routine blood work; have those been high, in the past?

You should try to get the thyroid antibody tests done... if antibodies are elevated, that would point you in the right direction.  We already know that you have nodules and nodules are very common with autoimmune thyroid disease.  Some nodules can produce hormone independently from the thyroid.

While Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is, typically, associated with hypothyroidism, it's often characterized by periods of hyper in the early stages.  That could be what you're experiencing.

No.  I don't believe so.  I've only had my routine blood work, honestly.

A gradual gain over few years could be caused by,  the aging process or a thyroid issue, or something else.  Not all thyroid related weight gain is sudden.

Have you been tested for insulin resistance?

I have gained the weight over the course of the last 6 years or so.  Not too recent.  I did not have the thyroid antibodies checked.  I will have to have that done.  Thanks for your help.

Have you always been overweight or is that something new?  Weight issues and brain fog are 2 common symptoms of hypo, but your labs don't really indicate that you're hypo.

Have you had vitamin B12 levels tested?  B12 deficiency can cause the foggy brain and forgetfulness.

Have you had thyroid antibody tests done?  The tests to diagnose Hashimoto's are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab).  TPOab can slightly elevated with Graves Disease, but the definitive test for that is Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI).  You need both the tests for Hashimoto's, because some of us have one or the other of the 2 antibodies, others have both.  Failure to test them both could result in misdiagnosis.

I am currently not on any medication.  I have not been diagnosed with either Hashimoto's or Graves Disease.  I haven't really noticed any symptoms other than the nodules on my thyroid(which I didn't notice, they were picked up by an US).  I am about 50 pounds overweight, also, do get foggy brain sometimes, and sometimes forgetful.

Are you on any thyroid related medication?  If so, what med/dosage and how long have you been on it?

Your FT4 is higher than it needs to be.  Your FT3 is at 55% of the range, which isn't bad at all.  Your TSH is about right, as well.

I don't really see anything significant, but that doesn't always mean anything either.

Do you have symptoms of hyper or hypothyroidism?  If so, which ones?

Have you been diagnosed with either Hashimoto's or Graves Disease?  Nodules are quite common with both.
