Large Thyroid

Last week I went to my PCP and she ordered a CBC. She did a physical touch test of my thyroid and found it was "large" for what she expected.  The test performed is  hTSH 1.22 is results Reference range .47 - 5.01.  also my Vitiman B12 count 368.  I know when I had a MRI a few years ago they found a cyst on the thyroid (I lost my insurance before I could do anything about it.)   What are the test results telling me.  And is there something I can do with diet, vitamins (etc) to increase or decrease as needed.

Thank you
Robin

Thank you Laura,  The ultrasound will be performed in a week or two.  I know I have been exausted more lately then normal, my hair is noticable thinner then it was 2 years ago and has lost it's natural curl.  Losing weight... not an option been there tried it even with exercise with a dietician help.  She thought something was wrong other then my eatting and exercise.  On the average I walk 2 miles at work on any given day.

Hopefully your Dr has told you to take Vit B12 sublinguals, unless she has offered shots.  Also a TSH does not show the actual "active" thyroid hormone in the body. TSH is a pituitary function test. The Free T4 and Free T3 are the tests to show the actual thyroid hormone levels. You should also have a thyroid ultrasound done to check size and for nodules.
