Leg Pain

by CatieC, Sep 12, 2008 06:52PM
Just to recap - last TSH was 3.41. I was on 75 mcg Synthroid and I convinced the doctor to prescribe 88 mcg. She agreed to try 5 days 88 mcg and 2 days 75 mcg of Synthroid for 6 weeks and then retest. I have been on the 88 dosage for 10 days and my fatigue is gone and I am sleeping much better. However, now I have pain in my right leg and the leg feels cool. 3 days ago it started to ache and then go away. Today it's hurting all day. Could my leg pain be a thyroid issue?

Hi Catie,

I don't know much about the thyroid stuff yet as I'm very newly diagnosed with Hyper...
What I DO know is that I developed leg pain about a year ago, actually shin pain to be exact...went to an orthopedic doc and he suggested after my having a bone scan that I see an Endocrinologist.  He said I had extra bone growth--bone re-uptake he calls it.
My Endo doesn't have a clue about that and says they aren't related but he's been such a passive doctor that I don't know how much he's really putting into figuring out what's wrong with me in the first place.
Long story shorter than it could be...;)
I think there could be some relation, only from my own experience and the fact that the thyroid can touch so many areas of the body...

I apologize if I'm way off on this...I don't want to give you any false info...Just letting you know that I can relate to thyroid and pain issues.

I also think leg pain can be related to thyroid issues. I'm hoping others more informed on this forum will weigh in.
