Levothyroxin 50 mcg bad reaction??

Can taking this medication daily after being diagnosed with slightly slow thryroid cause your period to come back after not having it for months. Along with the period, I started to feel very anxious, palpitations, nervous, and ill at ease. This feeling comes and goes throughout the day lasting from 20 to about 45 minutes. There are times that I feel like  I have alot of pent up energy. I have also lost about 8 pounds since starting on this medication 21 days ago. I feel like it is toom much medication. I don't have any experience with this medication or with dealing with throid issues. I felt better before I starting taking this medication. Please help.

What are your latest levels according to your lab report?  What dosage are you on?  Yes, you need to talk to your doctor -- you may be hyper or you may just have been started on too high a dosage.

Thank you for sharing with me, I reallly appreciate it.I was amazed that my period returned with the medications and that it lasted for 2 weeks straight. I am going to the doctor tomorrow and I will see what he says. I am very uncomfortable with the symptoms that I am having.  I hope these symptoms disappear or I am really considering stopping the medication. I feel worse with the mediation than what I did when I wasn't on anything.

My period did return after 5 months of nothing when i started on meds, i have read this can happen ( but wish it didn't) Maybe you need to go on a lower dose to start with if you are getting hyper symptoms, some start off at 25mcg and then build up slowly, or it could be your body getting used to the meds and may settle in a few weeks, but i would speak to you doc spesh if your loosing weight so fast and if the palpitations are disturbing you..
