Levothyroxine

Was started on .50 mcg of Levo back in October.  Levels were at 7.5 and after 7 weeks levels were at 3.7.  After the 7 weeks, this medication was making me very angry and irritable.  Took myself of it about 1 week ago.  Feel much better now.  I go see a new doc in 2 weeks.  Anybody else have this problem with Levothyroxine?  Any answers would be helpful...Thanks

I di have a simular experience when i first started the medication. I was given a muscle relaxer and anti anxiety pills that seemed to help. I did take myself off of the meds but found that i needed them so I started over at a lower dose and increased from there. I am on levoxyl .075mg but now after 6-7 weeks I am having the same symptoms again. I have extreme soreness between the shoulder blades and irritable and heart plaptions. I will go next week to get a TSH blood test to see if it is ok and see my doc again. I didnt mean to go on. i hope this helps. Talk to your doctor again.
good luck

For me it wasn't the meds. (levoxyl), but rather the disease.  I took antidepressants for a while and now taking anxiety meds. on an as need bases, which works great seeing that I don't have anxiety issues.  Regardless, I still consider myself mildly healthy and positive.

Good Luck and Best Wishes for 2008!
