Hi,
better see your doc to find out his approach.
Two possible approaches I think.
1. Trial a low dose of thryoid meds to see if you feel better and the numbers improve. Should be monitoring of course.
2. Monitor in 3 months and see whether the numbers are getting better or worse.
From my perspective see if your doc will go with No. 1.
If my doc doesn't agree on putting me on medication for HypoT, what should I do? Should I trust him?
Sorry,
the ranges are
TGA 0-100
TPO 0-34
FT3 1.80-4.60
FT4 .93-1.70
TSH .27 - 4.20
@Thelma :
Ive been loosing a lot of hair (balding) recently. My menses are irregular. They skip a month or I might get it twice in a month or the flow is quite light (like a few drops a day during my periods). Then, I'm quite fat and even though I exercise regularly, I haven't been able to keep my weight off
Also, I'm always tired and sleepy
and for some reason, I always feel like swallowing even though there is nothing in my mouth
could it be PCOS if not hypoT
just looking at the TSH ,looks mildly hypo to me..what are your symptoms?
I forgot to mention that it's possible to have symptoms of hypoT for a long period of time BEFORE the labs show a problem. You might do well with a small trial dose of thyroid hormone.
Again, please post the reference ranges from your lab report and the members will be able to better help you.
What are the lab's reference ranges for the Free T3 and Free T4? Your TSH is a bit high according to the new standards, but some labs are still using outdated reference ranges for that as well.
Please post the reference ranges from your lab report.
