The best answer I can give you is what I said before, that inadequate thyroid levels can be a very serious problem. I would not wait any longer to get to a doctor and get tested for Free T3 and Free T4, along with TSH they always test, and get started on replacement thyroid medication. With almost total thyroid removal, I'm amazed that you have been able to somehow get by without meds.
I was only on thyroid medication for a short while after surgery. After my prescription ran out, it was not renewed and I did not realize the seriousness without the medication. Somehow the doctors didn't realize that the prescription lapsed and was not renewed. I thank you for any further infomation you may be able to provide concerning my original question. Thank you...

With almost total thyroid removal, how can you possibly be getting by without thyroid medication? Are you having any of the typical hypothyroid symptoms listed in this link?

Inadequate thyroid levels can be a very serious problem. Have you been tested recently for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4? If not you need to do so. If you have, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.
