My mother's ultrasound report

My mother's doctor recently discovered nodules on her thyroid.  She went for an ultrasound in May, and here are the findings:

"Indication: Dysphasia

Overall thyroid gland is normal in size. In the mid left thyroid lobe there is a 6 x 5 x 4 mm nodule which is hypoechoic with respect to the appearance of the surrounding normal thyroid tissue.  This is a dominant nodule.  There are multiple smaller similar hypoechoic lesions some of which appear to be clearly cystic within the left thyroid lobe.  There is a single small hypoechoic nodule in the right thyroid lobe as well.  "

She is having another ultrasound later this month, as they told her the nodules are "too small to biopsy" and she should "wait and see."

I need my thyroid expert pals help with this - what does it all mean? Obviously, due to my thyca, we are a bit nervous.  Thanks so much!

Thank you.  She's a little worried - with my recent thyca batlle plus her younger sister's thyroidectomy (30 years ago), and now her older sister has just been diagnosed hyper.

The hypoechoic SOLID nodules are having higher malignancy risk, but the MULTIPLE cystic nodules and absence of enlarged lymph nodes [based on report] would make wait and see approach appropriate in this case.
