hi luttu,
i'm new to hypothyroidism aswell, this is my first week of taking eltroxin, go steady 100mcg seems quite alot, for me 50mcg's was to much, i couldn't even make it to work, it was all i could do to breath properly, palpitations all day only easing up in the eveing, my dr was great they said to start on what ever i could tolerate even if that meant cutting 25mcg's in half, 25mcg's are just about ok so i'm going to try and stick at this for a while. good luck, ow
There are a lot of symptoms from hypothyroidism, gain weight is one, low mood, cold, losing hair,... etc.. at least 15 different kind of symptoms. from your blood test, you are on the hypo side, your TSH is too high, even your FT3 and FT4 are normal, but they are LOW normal. besides over weight, do you have any other symptoms ? The 100mcg Eltroxin should help you a lot, you need to continue do blood test every other month to make sure the dosage of Eltroxin is correct, make sure you take enough, but not too much. Eltroxin has very few side effects, pretty save in most cases. Depends on your thyroid itself, you may have to take this tablet for months, years, or many many years....
