Did you get copy of bloodwork? Post the results here with the lab ranges so I can take a look....normal isn't always normal. Did he run the antibody tests for hashimotos??
Happy thanksgiving to you to!
I got the results back from blood tests are were in the normal range. The needle biospy will be on Dec.16th. Wishing you to have a great Thanksgiving.
Your welcome! Don't worry about the biopsy....mine was smooth and easy. Is your doctor going to also run the tests I suggested? Let me know how it goes.
I got the results from utrasound. I have many nodules 3 of which are large enough for them to want to do needle biospy. He also wants me to have blood tests done. I had them done about 1 year ago it was normal but he is ordering more detailed tests done. Thanks for your help in this.
Absolutely....You can have nodules long before levels show. Some people have a nodule and never have blood level problems! Good to hear you had an ultrasound. Hang tight....you will know soon. If you have to have the biopsy don't worry. It really isn't that bad as long as they numb you. Let me know how your results turn out.
Thanks for responding to my post. I was told Monday that I had the growth on Thyroid. I had catscan done for another reason. I had ultrasound done this morning > I had blood tests done last year and all was normal. Can a person have normal levels and still have a growth?
Actually you should be having an ultrasound of the thyroid done. They can then tell more about the nodule. A goiter can be a group of nodules that swell with the thyroid tissue, or a goiter can be the thyroid itself swelling up....in most cases a goiter is caused by hashimotos thyroiditis (autoimmune disease). Usually a nodule the size of 1cm or bigger is biopsied with ultrasound guidance. I would ask for a Ultrasound not another catscan...as well as the catscan being unnecessary extra radiation. Good luck and let us know what happens. :)
PS did you get a free t4, free t3, tsh, and antibody tests for thyroid done yet?? Get copies of all your bloodwork.
