OT: Pam- Temps in VA Today

They have gradually sneaked the predicted high in our area up to 102 degrees for today. :-(  You are just outside of  Richmond I think,  I assume it's about as hot there too.
I know you said the heat was bothering you.  I hope you are feeling okay.
Further OT- My favorite HS teacher went to Randolph Macon :-)

I'd love to go to Alaska too!!  Via a cruise, that is!  I'm with you on the white blanket, though.  The first real snow that covers everything - including all the trees - is just beautiful.  As for fun shoveling?  You got me on that one!!  ;-)

I LOVE snow.

I love how it looks  when the  velvety white blanket covers the barren landscape of winter and the shimmering ice covers tree branches...amazing.

I even have FUN shoveling it and shovel out my neighbor's driveways and cars because I like it. LOL

Oh, I love to watch it snow those big, fat flakes while sitting in front of the fireplace!!  I wouldn't mind it if I didn't have to drive in it, that's for sure.  In fact, I love getting snowed in - as long as I have plenty of milk and TP, that is!!!!  
Hope they get that school done in a big hurry!!  I don't know about Indiana, but August is normally a pretty hot month for August.

The only neat thing about where we live is we are about 50 miles south east of lake michigan in whats called the "lake effect snow belt" I have seen where one side of the street gets 4- 6 inches...and the other side of the street gets nothing!!!

I love to sled but usually am the type that likes to enjoy the snow....INSIDE by the fireplace...looking OUT the window LOL


We can NOT get real hot again here....the boys school is under construction and they AC wont be working until sometime in September. Thats almost 3 weeks of class's until then!!!!!!

Wow.  Sounds nasty hot where you guys are at.  That humidity really wipes you out!!  

dart - I hear you on the winter comments.  I love how the southerners rub in the fact that they were outside in the sunshine while we're trying to shovel our driveways enough to get the car out.....IF it'll start, that is!!!  :-)  I like winter in Michigan for about ummm.......a week.  At Christmas until New Years - then it can go away.  

Stay cool and hydrated all of you in the extreme heat!!

It was bad ugly today, but nothin' like it's gonna get.  The forecast I was talking about was Tulsa and I'm way south of there, so no tellin' what we're in for.  It was 106 today on my front porch in the shade!  But luckily the humidity wasn't too bad.  Not even really enough for haze.  When it gets really hazy my son says "Look, Mama, the mountains turned blue again!"  He thinks they change colors daily.  And he's color blind, so blue is one of the few colors he really sees, so he gets so excited when they're blue.  It's funny.

Would love to be able to go sledding, although I'd probably have a heart attack and die.  Do they have sleds with attached oxygen? lol  We had some snow last winter and I went sledding with the kids in the yard, we live on the side of a hill, and it just about killed me!  Good terrain to sled down, bad to mow!  My son would love it there.

I heard the heat index in OK was 112 today. I do better in heat then cold...but geez the humidity down there is    U  G  L  Y  !!!!

Venora--have you checked out the forecast for Sunday and Monday!  104-106!!!!!!  UGH!  Worked outside all morning, sweat like a hooker in church (LOL), but by noon I HAD to come in 'cause I was dyin'!

Rhonda--I would trade you for some of the snow!!!!  We don't get hardly any here and I LOVE snow!

Can't believe they have had it hotter than we have on the east coast.  Unbelievable!

any time I talk to my parents in OK the first thing dad asks is...whats your weather like. No matter how ugly it is here in indiana he will NOT let me cripe......at least not until winter comes  and we are under blizzard warnings then  he smugly tells me that he went fishing that day.

ya know......sometimes I just dont like my dad LOL :-)

Miserable, ain't it?  Keep hearing about all the heat warnings around the country and have to remember this is not normal for them.  Always makes me wonder why on earth did my ancestors settle hear?!  Could they have not found some place cooler?  Been trying not to gripe too much this much as it was cool most of the summer, but I REALLY hate Aug in OK!!!!  Come on Christmas!!
