Thank you for answering back... I have been seeing an endo, have switched, as he keeps telling me my adrenal function is fine.. he did a cortisol test, and a aldosterone test.. they were both normal, however.. we all know that those tests are filled with error.. i need to get the saliva test, even though most doctors think its bunk. the other test where they inject you with ACTH is not a good indicator either.... at least thats what I read.. i switched my endos.. have an appointment soon... thank you again for your advice.
Excessive stress can contribute to the development of adrenal insufficiency/fatigue. The use of thyroid hormones is a contraindication (condition or factor that serves as a reason to withhold a certain medical treatment) in patients with uncorrected adrenal insufficiency.
Taking thyroid hormone with dysfunctional adrenal function results in continuing or worsening of hypothyroid symptoms, or causing hyperthyroid like symptoms on doses that should not cause these symptoms. Worse case scenario is a life threatening condition called an adrenal crisis.
A good article to read is "How Adrenals Can Wreak Havoc" on Stop The Thyroid Madness which goes indepth on lab testing, home tests, and treatment options.
I would also like to mention that the weight loss was attributed to stress. I think something else was going on,,, but i had the work up... everyrthing was normal... i am maintaining 106-110 pounds...
