Pituatory problem

I still have the worst ear ringing ever.  Saw a great Endo last week and he's running some panels.  He also thinks my testosterone has bottomed out.  The last time it was checked it was 230.

My ears ring so loud now and it get worse every week.

If I had a pituitary problem such as a tumor or something how is this detected?

Thank you

Thats fine Redhead...I have used both machines..the flat one and the 'tunnel ' one but no contrast with either.
A blonde"tired" moment there.
Also the CT omits radiation (small amount) and the MRI doesnt but is pretty useless without the contrast dye.
I had a CT scan done due to contrast allergy.
Also MRI is no good for me because of the heart issues (electromagnetic).

Sorry to correct you Smilerdeb...CT and MRI are two different machines. One is Computed Tomography which uses a low dose of xray, in 'slices' then the computer puts it together to make a picture.  MRI is Magnetic Resonance Imaging, using a type of electromagnetic field to get a better quality result.

Yes they removed it nasally (up the nose) as the tumour was at the front of the gland.
That was in March 2010 (3 mths ago).

Bruce...
Mine was picked up with a high TSH and a CT scan. or MRI as you guys call it.

I think you may have to find another Doctor as the one you are seeing isnt getting you anywhere :(

THey detect pituitary tumor through MRI, also they can check indirectly by doing a check of your visual field (this may be affected in case of pituitary adenoma).
