Sore Throat/Anxiety

A few months ago, I got some hyper symptoms from being on too much Synthroid. Mostly heart palps and anxiety. My endo took me off Synthroid for a few weeks and then started me at 25mcg. A few weeks later, my TSH was at 6 so he put me on 50mcg two weeks ago. Two nights ago, I had a night of insomnia and anxiety but I've been find since then except for a feeling of sore throat/throat tightness. Anyone know what's going on? Is this just a symptom of having my dose increased? Any help would be appreciated.

Most of us find out that basing a medication dosage on just a TSH blood draw can be difficult to recover from thyroid disease. If at all possible your doc should be asked to have more specific panels done along with a TSH reading to tell you and the doc more on why this is going on.

My feeling would be to request a Free T3 Free T4 TSH and autoimmune thyroid tests TPOab abd TgAb ran altogether.

Some deficiencies can cause mock hypothyroid symptoms like you express. Vit D is a biggy. One common ground on Vit D is if you are found to have autoimmune thyroid disease and also found to have low Vit D (below 75) then you have to raise the Vit D lab higher to stimulate your immune system to help regulate the thyroid better for better and more accurate tests.

My FT4 was 1.18 and my FT3 was 108. I don't have any antibody testing but I'll be sure to request it next time I go in as well as my D levels. I am anemic as well and just started iron tablets last week (4hrs after my Synthroid).

I've only been medicated for about 4 weeks so I'm just guessing that I need to let it run its course and give the Synthroid/iron some time.
