What is the reference range for the T4 and is that Free T4 or Total T4?  It should say on your report; if it doesn't, it's Total T4, which is considered obsolete and of little value...

You also need to have a Free T3 test.  Do you think you can get your doctor to do that while you wait for the endo appointment?

What symptoms do you have?  Are you taking a thyroid replacement hormone?  If not, it sounds like you have Central hypothyroidism, in which your thyroid works fine, but your pituitary gland just isn't sending out the signal, TSH, for it to produce hormones... I can't imagine why your doctor didn't go ahead and start you on replacement thyroid hormones...

Be sure to talk to the endo about Central hypothyroidism, because a lot of doctors will look at that low TSH and automatically think you're hyper, not hypo...

Maybe if you call and talk to the receptionist or scheduling nurse and explain what's been going on they can try to get you in there much quicker.  I'm so sorry I completely understand how you feel.
A very long time ago after my son was born I was hyper, and the symptoms where horrible.  At times I was afraid to pick up my son.  With medication it worked out relatively quickly for me.
Please let us know how everything works out for you, we'd love to hear from you again soon. I'm so sorry to hear your going through all of this.  Sometimes speciality doctors are very hard to get into.
