TSH LEVEL AT 150

I WAS DIAGNOSED 2.5 YEARS AGO WITH HYPOTHYRIOD IMMEADIATELY FOLLWING THE BIRTH OF MY LAST CHILD AT AGE 38 MY LEVELS HAVE NEVER BEEN AS HIGH AS THEY ARE RIGHT NOW TSH 150 THEY HAVE PUT ME ON A HIGH DOSAGE OF LEVOTHYROXIN 200MCG THIS HIGH DOSAGE CONCERNS ME. JUST LOOKING FOR REASSURANCE.

hi.. I too was diagnosed at 2-3 months post-partum.  tsh was 129.  they started me out slowly and worked the dose up.  I immediatly began to feel results.  I was up to 150 of synthroid (after being on 50, 75, 100, 137) over a 7 month period.

How are you feeling on the high dose?  Did you just start at that or have they worked it up to that?  They have waited until now 2.5 years after diagnosis to start meds?  

goolarra is right on about the free's, I never really saw satisfaction/decrease in symptoms until I started treating those numbers too.

Is this an increase in meds, or is this the first time you've been put on meds?

If it's an increase, what is your med history?

Have you had your free T3 and free T4 tested.  If so, please post along with reference ranges..
