TSH, T4 & Free T3 Recent Test Results

My recents results are:

TSH .187 -- Range .82 - 1.77
T4 .72 -- Range .82 - 1.77
FT3- 2.1 -- Range 2.0 - 4.4

Do these numbers seem off?

I am not surprised that you have hypo symptoms, with those low levels of FT4 and  FT3.  I am  surprised at those levels with you being on 150 mcg of Armour.   Made me wonder about absorption.  Are you taking the med as recommended:  1/2 hour before eating?

You listed the wrong  range for TSH, however, it is not a concern that your level is below range.  That does not automatically mean you are over medicated, as evidenced by your low FT4/FT3 levels.  Having a suppressed TSH is a common occurrence when taking thyroid med, especially one with T3 in it.  Symptomatic change is primarily related to FT4 and FT3 levels, not TSH.

In diagnosing and treating a hypothyroid patient, the most important consideration is an evaluation for symptoms typical of hypothyroidism, along with levels of FT4 and FT3.  You say you have the sysmptoms, and your FT4 and FT3 are low, so the obvious thing is to raise your levels by increasing med dosage.

In addition, for the effect on symptoms, it is very important to get ysour Vitamin D to at least 50 ng/ml, B12 into the upper part of its range, and ferritin to at least 100.  Ferritin level is very important when taking T3 meds.

If you want to confirm what I have said, have a look at a paper I co-authored, in the following link.

With those results, I have to ask if you have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism?  And if so, what med and dose are you taking?  Also, even more important, what symptoms do you have, if any?

I’m taking 150 mcg of armour. Increased from 120 3 months ago with little change to bloodwork results. I have typical hypo symptoms. I am concerned my is so low while others changed very little.
