Take it or leave it?

Recent FNA of my 21mm complex nodule reported as follows:

The specimen consits of Follicular cells, Hurthle cells,Macrophages & abundant colloid. These findings are most suggestive of a nodular goiter.Should the lesion enlarge or is clinically felt to be neoplastic, recommend clinical follow-up.

I would like to add that my thyroglobulin has risen from 40 to 159 and a I have an enlarged lymph node above this goiter which prompted my endo to do the FNA.My endo was rather vague so I asked what he would recommend if I were a relative, he said, " have it removed". Not what I wanted to hear.....

Thank-you,
Cindy

BTW, I know Hurthle cells can be common w/ Hashimotos, but my labs do not show I have that. cjs

A tricky question that only you can decide but.........

If I was in your shoes, I would want it fully explained to me just what is happening with the lymph node.
Ask questions to find out more THEN make your desision.
