Can't get an answer from the good old NHS

I am hypothyroid. My last proper antithyroid antibody tests were in 2003 thyroid mic ab titre 1:102400 and thryoglob 1:6400
at that time I started taking thyroxine and wham, better. Then about 18 months ago my weight rocketed, and despite more than average exercise and only 1000 calories each day I can't get my weight back to a healthy level. I've tried reducing to 800 -900 calories daily but feel starving and unwell when I do. I've tried approaching my NHS Gp, hopeless. I asked for testing recently and got a TSH of 0.6 plus T4 of 20. (my feel good TSH is about 0.18) thyroid peroxidase of 244 IU/ml.

It's getting me down looking like a blob of mashed potato. What can I do?

I forgat to add that its not good to starve yourself on that caloric intake. ^ small meals aday is the best way to loose weightno matter what your med condition is.
when you starve yourself the body  just holds on to the wieght even more
6 small meals a day with emphasis on veggies, fruits, and  whole grains.
Exercise for at least 30 mins a day even if it just a brisk walk.
Hopefully someone from the UK can help you out with issues with the NHS
