Yeah... it is frustrating. It's the main reason I just had a TT b/c 3 dr.s said they have never seen a TG that high not be cancer. One doctor said to me, "You're either an anomoly or you have widespread cancer." Apparently I'm an anomoly.
Thanks for the info. So you can't draw any inconclusions about Tg, confusing isn't it.

Lots of things can cause high Tg. Inflammation, cancer, benign nodules, FNAs, even exams. Tg is used as a marker for confirmed differentiated thryoid cancers. After a TT, they use Tg to confirm all thryoid tissue is gone, and to monitor for recurrence.
My Tg level was 3,803 (normal is <56), then 5,700 (did a recheck to make sure it wasn't lab error) and then 2,800. Despite negative biopsies, dr. feared that I had follicular cancer that was missed in biopsy. Had a TT 10 days ago and my entire gland was benign.
