graves lady,or anyone, please tell me more

here's the whole story if it will fit.I know as far as symptoms go,hypo fits a lot of things.I took my body temp 4 two weeks, avg. 97.3.Documented lots of things.Anyway, the dr's ive been to have been two nurses and one dr.I have no ins, so I cant be picky.Just slowly worsening symptoms which weren't so scary until this gland popped up.One nurse said a cyst!Dr said no, its a gland, Ill see u in a few months if it dont go down. The side of throat where she said the right lobe was swollen is HUGE now.It feels like it is going to burst through my neck, seriously. My veins are bulging. If everything looked okay on ct scan, then why is my neck going to explode? She said the"tissue" looked perfectly normal. So I am assume nothing'suspicious' seen.Obviously it is very inflamed, you don't even have to push in to touch it.It is so tight all the way down to my sternum almost.I read all the posts on here the last few weeks and know one side enlarged isn't usually good, but what harmless things could it be?I am doing nothing but crying, why would one side only be huge?I have a ten yr old and am terrified and dont know if I should call someone else. The E.N.T. I saw was a nurse, said Dr was busy. The only dr i saw was a family dr who said come back in few months if gland dont go down.I just need more advice.I took in a list of symptoms,he didn't even read them. And everyone on this forum says don't go by tsh only, get them all if you have symptoms. So what do I do?Just wait in terror two more weeks while my throat slowly seals shut(kidding).I am sorry to sound whiny,I am just scared. This thing is huge and I am a tad freaked. If the 'tissue' looked normal, why is it swollen?!

Preferably one who deals with a lot of thyroid patients per year.

If you are freaked out, can you go to the ER?  They might be able to give you some answers. Or do all three thyroid test.  Tell the ER that your throat feels like it is sealing up and you are having a hard time getting air.

Until you get some proper medical, that's all you can do.

Let us know what happens.

I think I have to have a referral to an endo, I'm so new to health problems that seem so fatal. I have never had a swollen gland on neck before. Mom died of cancer when I was young so you can imagine my terror. Without the gland I may not be so spooked. But anyway, does this sound like a thyroid prob, I've been reading these forums for months and feel like I know both of you. I was readiing to see if my symptoms sounded related to this, but didn't decide to post until they called and said 'tissue appeared normal'.
I told the nurse I couldn't prop myself anymore to read, felt like my air was cut off and she actually tried to explain that our necks were like bendy straws and that was what happened when we bend. I said I KNOW my neck and anatomy and I have read like that in bed for my whole life and never felt choked.Anyway, maybe I'll call an endo tomorrow, even though I have not even five bucks anymore, and see, but the hospital here has a monoply in town and owns all the dr's who aren't listening to me. They will tell me I need a referral, and the nurse who examined me at the E.N.T said " your TSH is fine, there is no need for more blood tests". So I'm guessing she won't refer me. FRUSTRATION. I know I sound paranoid, but I have these actual real symptoms and keep getting prescriptions for reflux and anti depressants.
I WAS NOT DEPRESSED UNTIL ALL THIS STARTED!! They just don't listen. I am not an unhappy, sobby person. But over the last few months I have become one!! Thank you two so much for responding!!!!!!

Nodules usually have normal thyroid levels. So the nurse saying your TSH test is normal does not mean you don't have a nodule!

Listen, you have to be very demanding to these type of medical people. Its your health! Rant and rave if that is what it takes to get properly seen and treated.

There should be  ways to work out billings.  They should work with you!

I can understand that this would make you depressed, it makes me depressed for you.  I mean this is not right.  You should be able to get decent medical.

I am so up set for you, I got to go take an anxiety pill.

Good Luck and Gods Prayers.

Oh each office I went to gave a different prescription for an anxiety pill, anti depressant, and one actually gave me one for post traumatic stress disorder!! My mom died like 16 years ago and he thinks thats what is causing my physical probs!!! And I will get billed, but they won't let you past the desk without the $100 deposit!!  I had all but ten dollars at the E.N.T and they made me charge the rest or I couldn't get in!! I guess I will just make a fuss. I am usually spineless and easygoing , but that's not working anymore.

Also, the depression has been ongoing for several? months, it's just gotten so bad that I can hardly talk without crying. That is another thing that tells me something isn't right. I cry at normal chick stuff, but when you are crying in the middle of a store for NO reason, something ain't right. I know for sure something is causing this, and it isn't mental. And anxiety pills aren't going to cure the buldge in my neck! Although I may get some until I get this figured out, might help me relax a bit.
