Thyroid Removed & Pain

I had my thyroid removed back in 2006 due to some goiders, not cancerous, thank goodness!
Now I am having some pain and a little swelling on my left collar bone where it meets by my esophagus (if that makes sense)
I just recently had my blood work done and my doctor increased my Synthroid.
Does this pain & swelling sound like anything to do with a thyroid issue?  Has anyone experienced this before?
I'm afraid of cancer!
