Basically I am looking for a natural approach for possible hypothryroidism. I have not been diagnosed (will be getting tested soon), but i have a few of the symptoms. I've heard mangosteen is pretty effective....I am looking for clarification. Or can anyone suggest a natural suppliment. Thanx

Hi All, a friend just gave me a book titled 'Your Thyroid Problems Solved' by Dr Sandra Cabot - It is an excellent book. It talks about natural remedies and holistic solutions to improve the thyroid.

There are many "natural" remedies out there on the market, but on this forum we deal with our thyroid problems with thyroid medication prescribed by our doctors.  If you go to a Naturopath, they might be able to help you with some supplements, but I h ave been to one and they even prescribed Armour thyroid which is a natural form of thyroid derived from pig thyroid.  You should go get your blood drawn first and read by your MD or ND to know for sure if you have a thyroid problem. Treating symptoms of thyroid if you don't have a thyroid problem will only cause problems.  We are not doctors nor claim to be experts, but we have all had to deal with thyroid problems and are on thyroid replacement or have had to go through RAI or TT for hyperthyroidism.  After you go to the doctor and get tests don, post back and maybe we can help.
