I am currently Hyperthyroid with a diagnosis of HAshimoto's disease and Grave's Disease.  As far as vaccinating for Swine flu what is the general consensus?

Huh, weird, maybe this is a Graves thing. I don't know enough about Graves.

No I have graves--High TSI levels incidate Graves and that is what I was last given as a diagnosis "over the phone" and put on Tapazole.  I have never swung either.  Always had hyper TSH levels.

Hashi people swing from hypo to hyper at the beginning stages. Is that what you mean? Or are you confusing Graves with Goiter?

Thanks,

I assume from reading here that it is not uncommon.  My TSI is 799 normal < 150 and my microsomal antibody was 107.8 normal < 5.0...I was told that I had Hashis at an appointment in Jan and then a new endocrin put me on Tapazole in july when the TSI numbers came out.  I was shocked but only talked to the nurse who seemed dumbfounded by my question "how can this be?" --I learned you can be both here, but I am still questioning the results when I see him next time.

How do you have Hashi and Graves at the same time?

I plan on getting my swine flu shot. I have Hashi.

Take care...
