Thyroid fluctuation..

Does anyone know how much and how frequently your levels can fluctuate? Can you go from hyper to hypo in the same day? or even multiple times a day? I assume it's not like blood pressure but i'm not sure.. Anyone know?

See i thought I was crazy for having hyper symptoms only 1 day after a dosage increase, my doc said i couldn't possibly feel the effects of it for 6 weeks.. Why do these docs make me feel stupid for saying wait a minute i'm hyper nope now i'm hypo.. I think i know my own body and symptoms.. like i said in another post an endo tried to tell me that my heavy menstrual cycle was not due to my thyroid and that it must be something wrong with my "female parts" So even tho heavy menstrual is a classic thyroid symptom of course MINE had nothing to do with my thyroid.. stupid idiot doctor.. I never went back to see him again.. But anyway.. interesting to know about the fluctuations.. Anything over 2.0 is hypo symptoms and under 1.0 hyper symptoms for me, so i have a very short range that i'm not having symptoms.. My endo that i have now believes that anything between 0.3 - 5.0 is "normal" so i suffer thru a lot of symptoms.. I need a new doc again..

I feel like cr@p once I go over 3.0 so usually know whats going on with the TSH.
This time (I think due to stress) I have gone hyper and TSH is under 2.0...hence palpitations.
But its getting better since I stayed off meds for 4 days and then recommenced back on the original dosage.
You can also have 'crossover symptoms ' where you feel both hyper and Hypo at the same time so take no notice what the Doc says.
I have had cold legs and yet break out in a sweat......which goes to show that this is possible.
usually though...that is where the FT4 and FT3 is high and the TSH hasnt 'caught up' with the levels properly. Usually brought on by a dose increase.

Thanks for the response.. I didn't have a clue how often your levels could fluctuate. I actually read online that people with hashimotos can fluctuate from hyper to hypo but didn't say over what period of time and when i asked my doctor about it he said "yes you do, but not enough to cause hypo to hyper symptoms" and didn't mention how frequently. If i'm fluctuating from 2.3 to over 6.0 i assure you i'll be having symptoms "unlike what my doc said" ughhh...

The TSH can fluctuate many times during the day and that is why they say to be consistant with your labs and basically go at the same time each time you go...ie..morning, afternoon.
And also to go with no meds in you.

I have also gone from 2.3 to over 6.0 in 2 days because of stress and the flu so the TSH can fluctuate if other factors are involved.
Hope that helps.
