Thyroid nodules

I'll have my biopsy on Monday, the nodules are 4.00 cm in size on both sides. However, they feel a little painful or little tender at times. Should I be feeling any pain from these nodules.

I had one about 3 cm.  It was caught incidentally by MRI.  Had it removed in November. Still waiting path results.  I have episodes of neck pain but I always contributed it to my cervical spine because I do have a herniated disc in my neck.  However, since surgery, no neck pain but it could also be a fluke.  I never had chronic neck pain, just episodes.  So, I'll have to see if it returns.  Most people I know who have/had nodules did not experience pain but I think it's certainly possible.

I never knew I had a nodule or even what one was, for that matter.  It was small and detected via CT for something else.  Turns out it was cancer.  I didn't know it was cancer after CT or even the biopsy, but surgery and the pathology in surgery.  I'm not sure what it would have felt like when it grew or if it would have grown at all.  Best news is it's out, and I'm done.  And although I have no official word of this via my doctor yet... In my mind, I'm cancer free!  Yipee!  Good news is for you, you will know a few days after your biopsy what you're dealing with or at least where to go from here, and be able to intelligently discuss a treatment plan with your physician!  Good luck and keep us posted.
