How often do you go to Endo while on meds
I have just started taking Synthroid 25 mcg. It's been about 7 weeks. I go back on Aug 12.
Does someone taking thyroid meds need to be seen more often to monitor thyroid levels? Is it case by case?

When you are on thyroid meds, you need to be monitored with blood tests every 6 weeks until your optimum levels have been reached. I was diagnosed with Graves late December 2005, had RAI ablation just before new years 2006 and have been on meds since that time. I was euthyroid for awhile on Synthroid 100mcg, then the doc upped it to 125 mcg Levoxyl (switched brands) and then I ended up hyperthyroid with an ER visit. With thyroid meds it takes a lot of time, a lot of monitoring by the doctor and lots of patience. Mine didn't monitor me like she should have with Levoxyl. You should insist on being monitored every 6 weeks until you are stable.
