I don't understand the US and haven't heard from my doctor yet.
FINDINGS:
The right lobe of the thyroid gland is stable in size, shape and
echogenicity measuring 4.1 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm. There is increased
vascularity. Largest area of nodularity is minimal lower pole
measured at 3 x 4 x 5 mm.
The left lobe of the thyroid gland appears stable in size, shape and
echogenicity measuring 3.9 x 1.2 x 1.8 cm. There is increased
vascularity. There is a stable nodule in the lower pole measuring 7 x
5 x 6 mm.
Thyroid isthmus is of normal thickness measuring 2.7 mm.
There is no regional cervical lymphadenopathy.
IMPRESSION:
Redemonstration of a heterogeneous thyroid gland with stable
appearance in size when compared to prior study of November 12, 2010.
There is increased vascularity on today's exam which may represent a
component of thyroiditis. If
it is indicated, correlation with a
radionuclide thyroid image uptake and scan may be of additional
diagnostic value.
