I recently needed a refill on my pill for hypothyroidism. I have been taking 100mcg of synthyroid for five years now, and I was tested twice in the past five months. The first time my test was 1.5 (estimate b/c I can't recall the exact number). Last month, my test came back at a two something. My doctor said this should not have increased that much in such a short time. I explained to her as I have several times over the past few months that I've been having shortness of breath, weight issues again, fatigue (that could be something else though as I am labeled "possible MS" right now) and acne issues suddenly. She said I was obviously taking the pill wrong and would test me again in six months, that she was keeping my pill the same.
I must admit that I was offended. I've been taking the pill for five years now and have never had a problem remembering to take it or how ... it's pretty simple. She then said I must be taking something else with it to cause an increase like that -- but that's not it either b/c I specifically take my vitamin at lunch to ensure there is no reaction.
Should I see another doc or is this normal to just wait and see like that? Thanks for your help!
